CRUEL AND UNUASUAL
Amendment VII: "Excessive bail shall not be required , nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted."
The author's message of this political cartoon containing cruel and unusual punishment is that sometimes, people are sentenced to an unfair amount of prison time that does not math the crime. The author believes that the person should be sentenced based off the crime and not for any other reason. In this cartoon there is a child in a jail cell saying triple j. This statement probably mean triple juvi. It is cruel and unusual for a person to be sentence to a time that does not match the crime committed.
